Time to Pig Out!
Congratulations to everyone who participated in Spokane to Sandpoint this weekend! 2 days of running with your friends, celebrating a well-deserved finish with a cold beer, followed by the sheer joy of a hot shower you’ll swear is the greatest thing you’ve ever experienced. A big thank you to Cascade Relays for once again organizing this amazing relay and a special shout out to all the great volunteers, many of whom are Flying Irish members. It was great to see you all out there! Speaking of Cascade Relays, their next big event is just a month away, so read on for more information about the all new Centennial Beer Chase coming October 1st! I’m signed up, you should be too!
This week is Pig Out in the Park, so we’ll pay a little visit to the festivities (I hear they have a beer garden) with a slightly modified 7 Bridges run-due to park construction, plus after run hydration courtesy of our September beer sponsor, Lagunitas! See you at 6:00 PM this Thursday at Ripples!
Flying Irish Glow Run is Coming!
Get your glow on September 8th when the great folks from Negative Split Glow in the Park will be in the house with music, lights, swag and awards for best neon/glow gear! Plus, they’re offering 20% off registration to Spokane’s Glow in the Park event with the code FLYINGIRISH!
Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day!
It’s nearly halfway to our favorite holiday, so we thought we’d celebrate with a Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day run on September 22nd! Wear your Irish garb, your kilt, your FI gear, whatever’s green, and get ready for the easiest theme run ever!
Featured Brewery: Lagunitas Brewing Company
September brings our newest beer sponsor and this month we’re happy to have Lagunitas providing after run hydration all month long! You can check out a selection of their beer right after the run! Fun fact; Lagunitas is the brewery that turned me onto IPA’s. “Good people drink good beer.” – Hunter S. Thompson
Centennial Beer Chase Registration Now Open!
On October 1st, the great folks at Cascade Relays are unveiling their newest race; the Centennial Beer Chase! It is a one-day, 50 mile running relay consisting of 12 legs that 2-6 person teams will complete. The course begins in Coeur d’Alene and finishes in Spokane, the bulk of which will follow the gorgeous Centennial Trail. Each exchange point is hosted at a brewery where the runners have an opportunity to sample local craft beer! Registration is NOW OPEN! We are excited to offer a $50 discount per team to Flying Irish members using the code flyingirish.
Volunteers Needed!
With race season in full swing, volunteers are needed! It’s a great opportunity to give back to the community, so bring a friend and build your race karma!
Our friends at Glow in the Park are offering the Flying Irish a 20% discount to this year’s Glow in the Park 5K using code FLYINGIRISH. Get registered now and light up the night September 17th!
