Off-Season Begins!

What a great way to end the 2014 season with last week’s party. We had a massive turnout and prizes to match! We hope that you had an awesome 2014 Flying Irish season. And congrats to all our prize winners, Grant winners, Photo Contest winners and of course to those who volunteered to be on the Board and those who volunteered to serve on the Board. There were so many great stories about 2014 that there just too many to share but one of the ones that stick out most to me is the ALS Ice-Bucket challenge and how many members partook in it and donated money to fight ALS and all those other diseases that suck ass. But don’t be afraid to share your Flying Irish stories or your travels with your Flying Irish shirt as we always like to share those with the rest of the Club.

Although the official 2014 season has come to a close for the Flying Irish it doesn’t mean we stop running.  During the off-season a group of us still meet for an informal run on Thursday nights.  I will post on the website, our facebook page or via email where we are meeting each week as we like to mix it up a bit in the off-season.  Last year we had close to 100 typically show-up.  This week we are at Ripples and next week is the Festivus run so make sure to get your $1.10 ready! And if you are already missing the official runs, the 2015 season kicks-off March 5th!  Mark your calendars! And we are already planning for next season. We will have lots of great things in store.  But if there is any fun, crazy, or world-record beating ideas that you want to see the Flying Irish do next season let us know!

As I am sure some of you are curious here are the results of last week’s election:

  • Grand Poobah – Brendan
  • Treasurer – David Lund
  • Sponsor Liaison – Nicole Lund
  • Volunteer Coordinator – Cassie Dickerson

In addition to those folks we also have two new Board members joining the ranks with our Newbie and Long-Term Member Representative positions held respectively by Aaron Crooks and Tony Giannetto. Welcome them all the to the Board!

See you all Thursday!

Grand Poobah – Brendan
