Many of you will be taking on 200 miles this coming weekend as you travel from Spokane to Sandpoint with 11 of your compatriots. But not for one crazy Flying Irish runner: David Lund will be taking on the whole race all by himself!! On his 200 mile journey he will be making a stop and joining in on the Flying Irish run this Thursday to do a little carbo loading. Hint. Hint. He may enjoy a few beers being bought for him! Be there to cheer on David on his (crazy) journey.
After we cheer on David’s run don’t forget to get your glow outfits set for next week’s Flying Irish Glow Mob run with the Glow in the Park peeps. Also that night you can get $10 off your entry to the Glow in the Park run on Sept 20th.
With all that going on I want to do some quick reminiscing of what you all has helped the Flying Irish achieve: Last week’s run pushed our yearly total past 10,000 total runs for the 5th straight year. And we are only 8 runners away from 4 straight years of 2,000+ runners in a year. We’re pretty certain that we’ll hit that 2,000 mark as we have on average 34.9 people join every week!!
See you all Thursday for another Flying Irish run!

R.I.P. Robin Williams
Just yesterday our world got a little a sadder when we lost Robin Williams. Did you know though he was also a runner, a fairly fast one at that? He had a 1:58.8 PR in the 800 meters. So we also lost a runner yesterday. I am sure you all had a laugh during one of his movies but also many of us suffer from depression just like Robin did. We ask you if yourself or someone you know who might need help, please have them call a professional or a help line. The national suicide prevention lifeline is 1-800-273-TALK (8255)
Extra Singlets and Sweatshirts Available
If you have 33 or 50 runs with the Flying Irish but forgot to get on the preorder for the new singlets or the hoodie sweatshirts? We now have an assortment of each in a few of the sizes. Get yours by showing up to the run! First come, first served! $30/each
We love seeing photos of our members. We love seeing photos of our members wearing their Flying Irish shirts even more! Why not encourage that even more and also give our members a chance to win something as well? To that we created the Flying Irish Running Club Photo Contest!
