We always knew we had some special members but little did we know that the reclusive Sasquatch (Homo sapiens hirtsutii), was a member of the Flying Irish Running Club. Make that two of them! Who would have known!!

We are quickly approaching Bloomsday but we are also quickly approaching two big milestones for the Flying Irish! The first is we are about to run the 365th official Flying Irish run of all time in a few weeks. A full year of the Flying Irish. And also coming up is the all-time 100,000 total runs ran mark. We have a special prize for that one lucky person who gets us over the line!

This is the week to win the big prize from Waddell’s Brewery! We’ve been giving away a bunch of their swag the last few weeks and now its time to give away the grand prize that you all have been wearing your Flying Irish shirts for and putting your name in the weekly raffle.Their beers will be featured on some of the taps. But of course to win at the run this week you have to be present, have a Flying Irish milestone shirt on and be over 21.

Volunteers Needed

We started up our volunteer program last year so that the Flying Irish can help serve the Spokane athletic community that has given back to us in so many ways. There are a few events that are coming up that need volunteers and also events that we will have a presence at that will also need volunteers. The following list of dates are ones that we have coming up. If you are interested in volunteering please email Cassie, our Volunteer Coordinator, with your details at volunteercoordinator@flyingirish.org

April 30 – Bloomsday Packet Stuffing (your FI run will be counted if you participate)
June 7 – Windermere Marathon – Flying Irish water station on course
